Whether you start looking for a job by writing your first resume or rewriting an existing resume, you may have a lot of questions, such as —

What is the distinction between a RESUME and a CV?
What exactly a RESUME is ?
A resume is a written document that contains information about your work history.
Your experience, skills, accomplishments, education, and qualifications can all be included in your resume.
Because your resume is frequently the first impression a potential employer has of you, it is also one of the most important documents you will ever create.
The resume is most commonly used to secure the job interview.
When applying for a job, you will usually be required to send your resume to a hiring manager, human resources manager, or recruiter. He or she will decide whether or not to call you in for an interview based on their impression of your resume.
In order to land a job, your resume must be current and meticulously correct; without it, you will not be able to secure an interview.
What exactly a CV is ?
CV is an abbreviation for Curriculum Vitae, which is Latin for "Life Course."
A RESUME is technically a shorter account of one's professional and educational history, whereas a CV is longer and more detailed, covering professional accomplishments, awards, and recognitions.
In the Indian market, however, the terms ‘resume' and ‘CV' are used interchangeably, and you can assume they mean the same thing. As a result, you can assume that all of the advice given here is applicable to both a resume and a CV.
What is the ideal length for a resume?
Your resume should be no more than three to four pages long.
If you are a student, you may not have much experience yet, so 1-2 pages is perfectly acceptable.
When writing a CV, it can be difficult to keep it within the 3-4 page limit if you have several years of experience and accomplishments.
Remember that truly great resumes are short and succinct – so follow our guidelines for what to include and exclude in your resume.
What is the proper way to 'do' a Resume?
Make your first draft of a resume now that you know what to include. Then, take a break and come back to it in a few days. You can be more objective with fresh eyes.
Consider:
Are my accomplishments relevant to the role for which I am applying?
How can I show that my skills are valuable to the organization?
Customize and edit your CV as needed.
Finally, have a reliable friend proofread your resume.
You can spend all the time in the world deciding what to write on a resume, but it can all be for naught if you make a single spelling error.
Online resume
Ensures that your resume stands out on the internet
Employers are increasingly interested in seeing your digital resume.
A digital resume is, as the name implies, one that is easily accessible online through your own or a third-party platform.
There are numerous options available when it comes to creating an online resume. To make a big impact, you can go all out and build your own website or make a video. Alternatively, you can use an existing networking platform, such as LinkedIn. You could also make use of a free online resume builder.
An online resume has the advantage of being found by potential employers, but it also has the disadvantage of not being tailored to a specific role that you may be seeking.
While digital resumes have their place and will continue to grow in importance, they should be used in conjunction with a more traditional, off-line resume.
You can never spend too much time crafting the ideal resume. Even if you nail the fundamentals, there are some details to consider that will help your CV to stand out.
